The 2024 James Beard Awards Winners Are Here

If you’ve spent a lot of time searching ‘hotel pools with day passes’ recently, it means two things: it’s almost summertime and it’s James Beard Awards season. The latter of those occurred recently at the Lyric Opera in Chicago where chefs and restaurateurs from around the country gathered for what’s commonly referred to as the Oscars of food. And in what's clearly a great sign for the industry as a whole, this year's list of winners was the most diverse yet.

‍The 2024 James Beard Award winners included chef Michael Rafidi of Albi in Washington, D.C. for Outstanding Chef, Langbaan in Portland, OR for Outstanding Restaurant, Dakar in New Orleans for Best New Restaurant, chef Masako Morishita of Perry's in Washington, D.C for Emerging Chef and ZU Bakery in Portland, OR for Outstanding Bakery.
