Attention all New Yorkers! Printemps, a chic French department store, is making its way from Paris to New York City, opening at 1 Wall Street sometime in early 2025.
Saga Hospitality Group, which owns New York's Crown Shy and Saga, will partner with culinary director Gregory Gourdet of Portland’s award-winning Kann to oversee all food and beverage, ranging from a casual cafe to fine dining. Kann is no stranger to the limelight – he starred on Season 12 of Top Chef, where he also became a judge, and his Portland, OR restaurant Kann received the 2023 James Beard Award for “Best New Restaurant,” which made it a near-impossible reservation to snag in the PNW food-obsessed town.
So, what can you expect from Printemps? Luxury goods with a local slant, set in a historic 50-story landmark building in the rapidly changing Financial District. Come for the window (or actual) shopping and stay for the food, wine and vibes.
